I began my professional training in the Oil and Gas industry on the Gulf Coast in South Louisiana at the age of eight during the early 1980s oil boom. I worked for and learned the business from my family, becoming facile with world-class customer service, administrative and management fundamentals, public records research, and working as an independent abstractor, seismic permit agent, and petroleum landman. In my early 20s, I was the office manager of a flagship store for Borders Books and Music in Los Angeles, California, and moved within the Borders Group company to open a new location in Lewisville, Texas in 1997.

After returning to school to complete my undergraduate education, I worked in non-traditional student enrollment (University College) and Graduate Admissions at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. Once I completed my M. A. I taught English as an Adjunct Instructor at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, University of Phoenix, Lafayette, Louisiana Campus, and Bellingham Technical College.

Since my relocation to Bellingham, I have worked in student services in higher education administration at Bellingham Technical College and Western Washington University, in the areas of grants administration, social services case management, and financial advising. I have also been employed as an editor for an educational publisher, an assistant cycling instructor for Everybody Bike, and an administrator for Bellingham Sings, a choral and vocal arts community, in recent years.  I currently work in the field of real estate appraisal administration and am an appraiser trainee.  I continue to expand my skillsets through this business and my own creative projects that include record production.

In the five years since I began performing I have had the privilege of singing and recording with a number of outstanding musicians.  The website for my personal musical endeavors is here and I’ve released my first album as a producer in 2017 as well, a life-work retrospective of my grandfather and adoptive/surrogate father’s music, “Heart of Steel”.  Look for a jazz EP of recordings with John Stowell and Phillip Greenlief as well as an EP of blues, R&B, and jazz including a guest appearance by Bobby Black to be released later this year under my own label, Whitewing Music.

I have created Whitewing Services, Consulting and Entertainment Production to make better use of my diverse skillsets, to serve a broader and more diverse population, and to foster my connections with other people doing good work in the world. I am committed to top-notch customer service and to empowering the members of my community to live their dreams. I approach my work with deep passions for people and sustainability on all strata of existence.

I have made my home in beautiful Bellingham for the past eleven years, finding it a supportive and nurturing community in which to rear my two children, ages fourteen and twelve. I love adventuring and exploring, and generally take every opportunity to explore the richness of cultural and natural resources that are the hallmarks of the Pacific Northwest.
